About Us

From Fitness to Photos

My name is Joe Giannetti, I have been in the fitness industry for almost 15 years now as a personal trainer, gym owner, and an athlete. I have been competing in powerlifting for almost a little over three years now and hold a number of state, national and world records in bench press and deadlift.

A Near Death Experience

In February of 2016, I was admitted to the hospital with heart, liver, and kidney failure. I was put in an induced coma so the doctors could try and figure out what was happening. After 3 days they woke me up and still really had no answers for me except that my heart was functioning a little better and that it was probably some type of virus. The doctors had told me that I would never be able to compete again and that my entire lifestyle as I knew was over. But still, couldn't tell me why.  I was very grateful to be alive but also devastated that the lifestyle and goals I had worked so hard and long for had to go away.

The Meet

A few weeks after I was released from the hospital I was healthy enough to go to a powerlifting meet and see some friends and watch some lifters. At this meet there was a photographer that had a reserved seat in the spectators area and a camera on a monopod he was taking pictures of these athletes that worked their asses off for months to step on the platform for a few seconds to achieve what maybe 10% of the people in the world could do and this photographer looked bored out of his mind!! There was no emotion in what he was doing, no passion, no excitement. I left this meet really bothered by the this.

A Passion Revealed

I had no training or schooling in photography, all I had was a camera and a LOT of time on my hands. I started to teach myself and learn as much as I possibly could about lighting, composition, and photo editing and everything else. after a few months, I made the leap and asked a friend if I could shoot his upcoming powerlifting meet. That was it! I was hooked!
